Utah County Makes it Easy to Get Rid of Old Prescriptions
How dangerous are those bottles of unused prescriptions sitting in your medicine cabinet? Believe it our not, they could be one of the most dangerous things in your house. Not only could young children mistakenly ingest them, but 70 percent of teens who abuse prescriptions say that they get them from their family's medicine cabinet.
Unfortunately, prescription drug-abuse is a huge problem in Utah. The state has one of the highest prescription drug-abuse rates in the nation. In response, Utah County has declared April as "Clean Out the Cabinet Month" and has organized several "Clean Out the Cabinets" events where people can dispose of any unused prescription drugs.

Walmart
• 585 N. State, Lindon
You can also dispose of prescription medications year-round at several permanent locations throughout the county.
If you keep any prescriptions in the house, it is recommended that they be kept safely locked up. For more information about properly disposing your prescriptions, visit www.cleanoutthecabinet.org.
